thanks junaid and nirupam!!!!!!

@ nirupam...... almost every river is having mahseer in india but the quantity varies due to several reasons. ask locals as you did for the fish they caught in the particular area and the bait used.

good luck & regards
manish

nirupam.. kanushi or kanas or kalbasu.. takes bait.. like rohu.. in pune.. the rivers had mahseer .. now they do not because of heavy pollution and introduction of invasive species.... u can try some lakes.. but its not easy..

Thanks manish and hamour for your valuable response i ave seen local people caught kanusi on chapati they have told me that they only take chapati i wa shocke by seeing th size of the fish it is almost 7 kg.....

after that i have also tried chapati as a bait but i have 2 talapia of 2 kg...this was the biggest talapia i have caught in pune.

Hi manish,
Beautiful mahseer ! congrats :D

Hi Nirupam,
Congrats bro on the big catch ! the tilapia look beautiful ! and nice concept of chappatti

hey Daryl,
Does the oil in chappatis attract fish ? because I read somewhere in the forum that oil is the thing that attracts fish... is it true ?

yes to some extent.. but the reason that the locals are using chappati... is simply because it is left over bits and pieces from their previous meal.. locals are not making chappatis exclusively to catch fish..difinitely not.. nor are the making atta paste to exclusively catch fish.. plus the locals do not use to much oil.. all of the above is coz of high cost factors.. they are simply making the best use of whatever is available and using waste in a manner that puts food on the table.. you should know that when they chappati ... its not just a piece of floating chappati... the are taking old bits .. mashing it wiyh the river water ..making a paste of it and applying it to their hooks.. the fish are used to eating such things coz they get this diet daily .. so whatever they are used to eating regularly they will swallow. othre ground baits would be like a treat for them.... hehehe..
