About a week ago we went to the chalakudy river to see if the fish were around. The lingering monsoon led to some very muddy water which as everyone knows is bad news when it comes to mahseer fishing.Still we gave it a shot and Dad landed one good fish on spinner and Rahul had a bust off.we caught a few smaller ones as well but fishing was very poor compared to when the water is low and clear.

Hi Jeen,

My self Jayadevan, I love the way you guys fish and your presentation and techniques are awesome. Am from Cherai from Ernakulam district, i am also planning for my first trip to chalakkudy lake from the stretch vettilapara, can you please tell me the exact spot where we can try our luck. Am very new to that location and never been there so please advice me the exact location, or if possible provide the distance from chalakkudy town or distance from vettilapara.

I have seen so many posts from your side and am a fan of you now...

Well done and congrats, I had thought that most of the fish in the Chalakudy were blasted and bombed out. This gives hope that attitudes have changed.
Regards

Last day on Sunday 22nd Jan 2012 we went to Chalakkudi Vettilapara range for a fishing adventure, but the locals said coz of dynamiting losts of fish vanished from the river basin and they show us some locations where good fish may found but we didnt have enough time and returned back, planning for a next trip to Chalakkudi river in next week or so.. We will try for some other location on the stretch from vettilapara towards Athirapilly waterfalls.

Jayadevan
