I decided to hit the river just before our fishing season closes on the Cauvery especially since the rains had started and the water was highly oxygenated. This makes the mahseer more aggressive and likely to feed actively. At a pool above the rapids, I cast out a rubber shad and let it sink a foot or two before starting to reel it in. I had a massive take and the fish fought well for it's size. The penn squadron rod and penn conquer reel with 30lb mono proved to be a great combo and the fish was laned shortly. A video of the episode is in the link below. Watch in 1080 for best quality.
