Hi I just bought i boat in Goa its a small 5.5m with a outboard 40hp yamaha
But thing is i have never had or fished from boats before.
Since its monsoon i have sticked to the Shiolim river and trolling with some Xraps from 20ft to divers to shalow ones.
Ill be putting a GPS/Fishfinder on it when i get back from europe.
So what is the best way to fish the Mighty Sea when the monsoon is over? And living in North goa were should i head of to?
Any and all suggestions will be extremely helpful, as i have been fishing for some years now but always from land. Surfcasting and spinning.
Btw i did land 2 Mangrove Jacks with 1.8 and 2.5 Kilos respective and a couple of small 1.5 kilos barracudas trolling the river.

I cant wait to get in the ocean......

So bait fishing or live bait preferably but just drop an anchor in the middle of the river or let it drifting?

Well i tried fresh bait mackrel and sardines fished for 4 hours no bite. :(
I then trolled my faithful golden Rapala and again a 2.5kg MJ or Tamuchi (local name).
Monsoon has not quite started here and the water is still clear enough so im guessing thats why i get hit on the lures.
Im having trouble finding live bait. Cant get the hang of the throwing net :D
Any ideas on how to get my hands on live bait here in Goa?

My good friend Steff on the boat with me.( this guy got a whopping 48 barramundis last season in Querim)

No offshore because you cant go out to sea during the monsoon and return breathing.
I dont think they actually ban line fishing, if everybody in india went line fishing, the damage would be less than one fishing troller.

Hi there,

I usually try the fort of tirakhol area and have hooked a few rabbit fish. Where exactly did your friend get the barramundi's i mean where in querim is that as I plan to do some barra fishing out there if only i know places.

Cheers
