Hi Friends,

Just back from a Family trip to Galibore. Dad, Brother in Law (Bil), Son, Nephew and Self. Stag trip. Left the ladies at home.

Had a ball! Dad looked at fishing as a waste of time. He is a confirmed angler now. My 8 yr old nephew took to it like fish to water. Born angler. Asked me to book for next year already! My son was good last year itself! Bil and myself have been fishing for some time. Some pics for you all--->

Nephew and Son learning to rig up.

Son got a good one. Good fight on a shall rod and reel!

Nephew and Son were competing. Senior anglers get jealous of other's catches. Kids can be excused!

I got one too. Nephew was delighted

That's all guys! Booked again for the first week of March. Hoping to catch the big one!

Tight lines!

Warm Regards,

Sailendra

Mr. DMello - A 4' Deccan Humpback Mahseer (this is the one found in Cauvery) would weigh about 50 lbs. These are not long fishes but have lot of girth!

Nirupam- Thanks very much. Family outing is fun, though you donot spend much time for yourself. Getting the kids to catch and reel in the fish is a pleasure though.

Spoonangler- Thanks very much. Missed a big one. Cut a 32lb line clean and got away.

Samit, Apoo and Sandip- Thanks a lot. Involving the whole family is fun. Watching the kids taking the sport up is a pleasure. Thanks again to all of you.

Regards,

Tight lines to you,

Sailendra

Sher Dil Bhai, Thanks very much. Apologies for not coming on to IA. Have been very busy this year. Lots of travelling. Many projects.
My catch was a modest one. Your MJ was stunning. Oooooh. Took my breath away. What a monster! Must be a world record!
Yes- Family had fun. Plan to have a this trip every year. I think the ladies will be in too next year.

Santosh- Thanks very much. I was there from 21st to 23rd. Must have just missed you. My bad luck. I know how u feel about the river. There is no way you can not love the river. I make 2-3 trips every year. Its like a pilgrimage for me. I booked for 4 days starting March 7th. If you want to come, pls do the bookings in advance. There are no slots available till 2nd March. Hope to meet you then.

Arish Bhai- Thanks very much. Hope to fish with you someday.

Dr. Bhavanagari - Thanks very much. You should do the Cauvery some time. You will keep doing this repeatedly. Very addictive. Bops can help you out in this regard.

Dezz- Looks like the ladies will join in next year . Will be very shocking if they pull out the large one I've been after. . Thanks very much for your post.

This MJ is for sure a Record in India caught by any angler on a rod, even many overseas anglers have said its a record catch and shared the pics in the fraternity
Thanks Brother :D only lionhearted ones appreciate lionheart's catches
Do take the ladies to Galibore next year as planned and don't be shocked if they hook the larger ones  you will be the best man to play them out of the water
[smilie=gt-happyup.gif] Happy fishing mate

Sher Dil Bhai,

Sorry for not replying earlier. Was travelling.

Good catches are good. The MJ you got was a great catch. Once in a life time kind of catch.

Every angler wants to catch one like yours. Some acknowledge it and some donot. We are all human. So let it be.

I am in the east coast now, north of Vishakhapatnam. I am not much of a sea angler. Wish you were here. With your knowledge of the sea we could have had a ball. The beaches are shallow here. Very few rocks. I will send you some pics. You can advise me the best way to fish!

Best luck to you. Wish you catch more monsters this year.

Tight lines.

Sailendra

Hi Raj Mallaya,

How are you? It was good meeting you in Coimbatore. I left the place in May this year. I had put in about 250 seedlings of Murrel in the Golf course lakes there. My friends tell me that they grown to about 3 kgs each. The guys are having a ball in the weekends. I asked them to practice catch and release till they are are 5kgs big.

Pretty sure no one's heeding my advise and ejoying good murrel fry with whiskey in the weekends?

Hope to meet you again. Any plans of coming to Bangalore in March? Let me know.

Regards and tight lines.

Sailendra

Three generations fishing together. Wow, must have been great. The smile on the face of your father and son says it all.

These are the trips which makes angling such a fine sport and a bonding factor.

Congratulations.

Regards,

Ali. :-)

Thanks very much, Ali Bhai.

Dad was a revelation. Initially he was a bit a loof but once I put a rod in his hands and told him how to strike and reel in, he was more enthusiastic than the kids! Loved to see the child in my old man!

Good thing about Galibore is - the fish, specially the small ones(1-5 kgs) keep biting. Good for kids and beginners.

Regards,

Tightlines.

Im doing fine, thanks, and what about you?

Fishing have been exciting last year and I have been regular to IA, have posted couple of threads, only did we have missed your posts .

I have been active into angling since the last week of November, you should have buzzed me here(IA) when you were in Hyderabad.

My PM is still blocked from sending instead you have a friend request in FB.

Cheers
Arish :P
