I am in Canada (Ottawa,Ontario) for my daughter's wedding and was getting swamped with all the organisational details, ongoing since the last several months.....I was fast becoming an expert on lehengas, sherwanis, bangles and jewellery etc.etc.!
Enough, I had to get away from the ladies and start fishing to restore my sanity !
Thank my stars that I had packed my rod, reel and lures for just such an eventuality. I quickly chose a lake some 1.5 hours away that I used to fish a long time ago, knowing that it held smallmouth and
largemouth bass as well as pike, muskie and walleye.
After some initial trouble, I got a motorboat on rent for a couple of hours and headed out into the lake,
trolling various lures behind the boat.
It did not take long before a beautiful smallmouth bass struck at the lure and was safely boated, it's picture taken and then gently returned to the water.
Further trolling did not produce any results, neither did casting with the lures..... the weeds had grown vey high over the Canadian summer and without having weedless hooks it was always going to be a tough job.
The next day, we again tried a different lake and managed to pull one larger bass out of the weeds before we had to return back to Ottawa.
