sunday i have decided to catch some kanusi from bima river in pune so i called my maid and told her to make some oil based chapati which is used to catch this fishes by local peoples.

i got 8 chapatis and went to river i reached the spot by 10 am....i casted several times but i got strikes but they a small fishes i was doing flot fishing as the water is calm and there is no strong winds so it is suitable for my floatfishing...

i waited there till 12 then suddenly in one of my cast the float disappeared and i pulled the line i got a strong pull but easily taken out one decent size poras fish ( local name).

After that i got few more strikes and i catched 4 poras fish by 3 pm...

but my dream to catch kausi is till a dream.......lets better luck next
time...

i have tried to resize but not been able to do the same.......excuse me this time..

nice catch Nirupam! lets try Kanusi next weekend! this time I'm bringing the ground bait! also have one method feeder which might help in doing the trick. worms are easily available given the anglers/local fisherman around are friendly. Lets better luck this time and hope to catch the kanusi your longing for!

Very nice fishes Nirupam - Congrats - Appreciate your effort and innovation on bait....These fishes look like Mrigal...I believe there would be lot of big fishes too...Try again and again and use strong grond bait and experient more on bait.... I am sure we will get very big one there...

Small suggestion - Use worm , Chola dust etc...Hope you will get good results...Would love to try there...You can try bolder type bait for big fishes....

Thanks for sharing....

the above fish are not mirgal.. they are what is locally called " kolus" ko- as in cola and lus - as in lust..

they dont grow too big. 1 to 1.5 kilos.. is big..

when the seasonal runs of rohu , mrigal , kanas and gautiya are thru.. this is what is mostly caught..
