Have fellow anglers had any stored lures spoiled/ destroyed by the effect of heat in India?

I am slightly concerned as I have left behind a sizeable quantity of lures in Chandigarh and read somewhere that excessive heat can distort plastic lures and ruin their action. The temperatures in our house could go into the high 40 degrees
( Centigrade) and possibly higher in the enclosed cupboards.

For soft plastics it can be a concern. For the hard bodied ones at least 70 degree is required to deform.
If you have put it in a closed enclosure like a car in direct sunlight this can happen.
No worries inside a room.

Thanks for the quick reply, Venkat.

It is reassuring to know that hard bodied lures will be ok ..... perhaps I will keep the soft plastics in the fridge.

Please send me your address and I'll put those soft plastic lures to better use. lol

I have had some soft plastic lures destroy in the past due to heat, but that is rare.
Most times they get destroyed due to reaction with other soft plastic lures of different type.

I haven not had a heat, believe me the place where I store a lot my lures gets real hot. We are talking about Mumbai summers with roof of cement sheets and almost no ventilation, so it really cooks there.

Hard lures no problems, even with the big game jet heads and skirts, or softies I have never had any heat related issues. The only problem with the softies and a few skirts that I have had, have been with fumes released over time from other plastics.
