HI

Just picked the new slammer 6500hs, and must admit this reel feels strong with full metal construction it has a deep spool so around 300mts of 60lb braid is the capacity, you get 2 handles with the reel. this is the first time i have got hands on this big reel whos gear ratio is 6.2.1, i plan to target GT, from boat with it, as we have started getting a lot of GT in Goa lately, if any body has used this reel kindly share their thoughts .

I have this reel in 4500 and 5500 sizes. Solid, well made and able to take punishment from the elements.

Looking forward to some action against those Goan GTs by you .... do send us reports and pictures.

It will be nice to know how the reel performs after a nice 10kg plus GT. Please keep us posted.

What a coincidence, I was planning to buy the exact same reel and size for an offshore jigging setup. I debated between Saragosa, Slammer and the Saltist and finally decided to go with the Slammer after spending much time reading through reviews online. I'd say good choice.

Nice to hear reports of GT's in Goa, any big ones 12-15Kilos reportedly caught?

Cheers...
