whats the scene on barras in India ? are the juveniles getting caught by fishermen in freshwaters ? I really have no idea :(

Yes they are.

But baby barras are sold in som places. they are purchased by pond owners for commercial purpose.

rakesh .. anything and everything that swims is caught irrespective of size .. btw.. do y'all know what a good forage fish is for marrel or barra.... none other than tilapia!

the right ratio for murrel stocking is 30 tilapia per murrel... for barra its more..besides some crustaceans..

i wish i had studied fisheries.. lets see .. will meet some people and look for opportunities..

Yeah! right anything that swims small or big.
the barras which grow in ponds for commercial purpose also feed on tilapia and do good.
