Hi Fellow member,

Its been a long time since i posted my angling pics... to start of, this summer has been great for me .... caught Rohu's, Murrels, Tilapia, and ofcourse catfish which is most famous around Bangalore!!! It was this Saturday 5th may, that a friend of mine asked me to join him as he got to know of a new place where he said we had good chances of catching decent size fish.... we started at 8 am in the morning and reached the spot at around 10.30, had to park the car and walk around 2km ....reached the spot and my heart broke as the water level was way low then i expected.... not much of disturbance on the surface as well .... the guys who came along with me started to set their line and hook etc ... by the way, these guys still use hand lines or bamboo hand made sticks .... with a unspirited heart i started to fix my rod ... i was using a mono line 60 lbs and and old hook size 6 which was given by my "mentor"... attached the bait ( nothing extraordinary - plain chicken guts ) to the hook , sung the rod to make sure the bait traveled to a good distance ..... loosened the drag knob and sat looking around the place .... after about 10 min's got a slight pull, i though it was some small fish nibbling the bait ....and say after 2 to 3 mins the line started to move in the opposite direction of the flow... tightened the drag knob and wound the line a bit and gave a strong pull ..... it was that moment all angler wait for .... .... ... fought the fish for about 10 mins till i got it to the bank ......i could not believe my eyes at first ...... it was my personal recording breaking fish ..... well this cat weighed from 11 to 14 Kilo's ( not sure of the exact weight ) my last catch record was 8 kio's.

For my luck i did not carry my camera this time... pic taken from my mobile

My special thanks to "MARIO", "ALI BHAI" for their guidance in the start of my angling career:D

Monster mate. Did you get anything else after that?? Since the water level is low I presume all the fishes should be concentrated in some deep pools...

Wow, what a catch Deepak. Looks like these buggers are growing fast. You said you released few of them?.. Never do that to this fish.. Its a must die category...
