Hi All

Have just returned from India after a short trip with the kids. Bops thanks for giving me a call in Bangalore. Hope to join youll once the season starts.

Have seen lots of positive feedback on my introduction and on the images that were posted on saltwater flyfishing,

Some more images although the permit were caught on prawn. The wife caught the second one a few minutes after mine.

Saltwater flyfishing like freswater is basically controlled by the fly line. Floating intermediate or sinking. We are mainly using intermediate flylines that sink slowly. You Tube has some great videos on saltwater flyfishing. Equipment is the only problem for us here as also in India. Have got some fly tying material from South Africa. the rod and reel from dubai. Cabela's has most of saltwater flyfishing material.

Have also attached blogs of two great flyfishing friends out here. They are mainly using a kayak to get out a bit further out. Have learnt a lot from them. Mainy tying my own closuers.

Have Fun keep Fishing

Some nice pictures there! The location looks fantastic, it's a pity we don't have such clear water off the beach here in India.

Any idea what models of fishing Kayaks are available in Oman?

Cheers
Bops

Hi Bops

The ones my friends use are Hobie Kayaks. Ther are available on booking only and quite expensive out here. Have heard that they are available in Dubai. In fact a friend of mine is buying one next week in Dubai. Will update with picture and price.

Will be south in Salalah next week. The south west monsoon has just touched this place and heard that winds are quite high. Nontehless will try some flyfishing.

Keep Fishing Carlton

Flyfishingoman,

Some nice permit there. They put up quite a scrap, have caught them on Sabiki jigs but much smaller. Nice to see some slat water fly fishing on the forum.

Tight lines,

Mighty Marlin
