last Nov we made a trip to the north to fish for golden masheer. Mostly spin fishing. After a couple of days of spin fishing we wanted to fly fish.
Misty Dhillon was very patient with me and trained me ,one full day, only casting dry flies. And the following day, result was a first on dry fly ( ant imitation )for me and a first golden on dry fly for my son. cant beat the visual experience of a take on the surface.

A fly caught Mahseer must have been a wonderful experience.

Thanks for sharing the report and the pics. Great report as always.

Nice catches with a fly rod,Jeen.

I met Misty Dhillon in Chandigarh some time ago and found him to be a keen angler and a very decent person.... glad that you got to know him.

Kingfish

This is what I was looking for and this is what I am dying to do! catch the elusive Mahseer on a fly. I am surprised at them hitting the dry flies. May be the bigger ones tend to go for more sculpin and baitfish imitation in subsurface environment. Good news either ways. Is it possible that any of you can send my way Mr. Dhillion's contact information? I'd appreciate that.

Cheers.....

Yes you are right the big fish do not go for dry flies. Te big fish are caught mostly dragon fly nymphs. You can get in touch with Misty here via a search for Himalayan Outback on google.
