Hello Fishmiss ! Some fish can not only breathe through gills but also moist skin like catfish. You must have seen the popular aquarium betta fish (fighter fish) lying in tiny containers in the pet shops. How do they breathe in such oxygen depeleted water conditions ? These fish have an organ called labyrinth that can breathe atmospheric air .I just came across this intersting article on carp. http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn9 ... inter.html

Me not sure how long it can hold the breath . But i remember the days when i carried the carp's back to home it reamains alive more than 1hrs of time and my brother use to leave them in to the pots..

*Carp's make a strange sound when you had them in your bags (out of water)
