Dear friends ,

It was a real surprise to catch a murrel which got hooked on its back.

Normally a murrel of this size will have strong scales and skin. Getting hooked in this way is incidental.

We inquired with our friends at Hyd caught a 400g murrel which got hooked in stomach.

In our experience of 20 years we caught so many wolleys getting hooked in even tentacles....but this is the first time that a murrel was caught like this.

Here is the link to the video.

This was caught by my friend Mr. Iqbal.

We would like know similar experiences from our fellow anglers.

Cheers
Salim

Iqbal Bhai, its a prize catch, what is amazing is to pull back such a big size murrel being hooked on its back...I mean it may have easily released itself
knowing the agressive nature of the fish...Happy fishing wish MasabTank Gang many more successes and many more interesting posts.

Hi,
My bit - if a murrel does not understand a bait, then it gives a wack with its tail, to settle any issues, if left at all. I have seen live frogs intestines come out of its mouth when they get a wack. A friend used a plug, and again, a murrel wacked it and out it came by its tail.

Or in this case, it could be just foul hooked!!

Cheers!!
