Post subject:  Those were the days my friends

Am stuck in a corner of Oman these days missing the good old days back home, an occasional barracuda or large porcupine like puffer fish or large unwanted giant ray running off with all your line and finally breaking off, only comfort sometimes watching some of the fun you guys are having at home on this forum and sometimes watching some old video or other ,
here is one shot by Toji about a year ago and mind you he got copyright warnings for using the song too in this one , I don't know if he posted this video already , but if he hasn't I just thought I should share this link with you guys, and guys this was my first murrel ever , my first fish on this rod a 6 ft daiwa d shock bait caster and first on this chinese bait casting reel which i got some 2 yrs ago, my first fish caught from my portabote
a lot of firsts for me

Nice video made. A great catch too. Congrats. How much did the portabote cost? Do you have any other pics of it?

Yeah, yeah, what does the portabote cost?

There are only two happy days in your life when you buy a boat. One, the day you buy it. Two, the day you sell it.

Porta is betta.

Am in Sur, Oman these days, don,t remember exactly the cost of the boat now, all in all inclusive of customs duties fines etc and then some I think I had spent about 1.5 lacs then to have it running , then of course I did buy a Xylo to lug it around also, might as well have gotten myself a used tata marina, would have been the perfect vehicle now that I think back upon it, the Xylo's gathering dust too as is the boat and we are all waiting till my next anuual leave to get together again out in the water
