Hey there fellow anglers, I'm Varun. I am originally from Mangalore, Karnataka but I've been living in the US for a long time now. I keep visiting home ever so often.

My passion for fishing, from holding a single mono filament line with a shrimp at breakwaters by the beaches of Mangalore to a seasoned fly fisher. I've been lucky to have the opportunity to pursue this hobby. Still learning more about this fine art of angling every chance I get to go out and learn it.

Two things I would like to do back home is catch a mahseer on fly (Cauvery or Himalaya) and try the trout fishing up north (H.P or Bhutan). I will try to troll through the forum for information, in the mean time if anybody with prior experience fishing at these places please pour in with your wisdom.

Just saying hello to everyone and may your lines be tight and FISH ON! my friends.

Cheers,
Varun

Welcome Varun
I hope you find what you're looking for here. I'm also looking into mahseer and trout in the Himalayas, with Garhwal & Kumaon seeming the best bet at present. All my previous angling in India has been in the sea.
All the best.

Thanks for the warm welcome venky, lure and druridge.

I was planning for a trip EOY and looks like Himachal has a license suspension during that period. If that's the case may be I will try Bhutan for the browns. Might help me with my trout fix and the much needed tranquility.

Anybody fish Bhutan much?

Cheers.....
