hii everyone,
a warm greeting to the moderators and all the fellow anglers of the forum.
I from kolkata, west bengal and fun loving fishing enthusiast, who found this forum late and took little time in sending the request, and at last i was accepted by the forum.
I really appreciate the concern.
I have been going through all the posts and found this forum a real site to add to my favourite list, for which once again i would like to appreciate the entire moderator team for creating such a site.
Members , since i have joined so late, i believe i will still receive all the help and suggestions regarding sports fishing to quench my thirst.

Thanks & Warm Regards,
Arindam Mondal

I'm from kolkata too. Here in this forum since a few months. As I learn from this forum u should post this introduction in introduction section and you'll get a warm welcome from everyone for sure :)

From where in kolkata u belong, may be we can make a trip together or share our fishing locations while in home :)

Regards,
Tanay

Hi, Arefin,
After busy march year ending a trip to my 'sasurbari' and as always tried luck in the big pond adjacent. With simple bait with braid, tiffin cake, rice and ghee caught four different carp. A Katla of 800 gms, a gangrui of 700gms, a grass carp of about 2.5 kg and a mrigal of about 200 gms in about 4 hours. Nice stay and enjoyment.

Hi Dream fish,

Happy to hear from you and knowing that things are going well for you. You are lucky having nice pond in "sasural". As I am not so much fortunate, I have to try my luck in pass lakes only. As these pass lakes are over fished, lots of experiment is required for success. I am preparing myself for the next week trip with some new ideas.

Regards,
Arefin

Dream fish,

You are saying this bait (bread, tiffin cake, rice and ghee) simple :o . Man I am speechless and thinking about how complex your complex baits are :?:

Regards,

Arefin

Arefin,
In Bengal the secret baits to catch carp are really complex. I don't use them. As it is of pure fun to me I stick to readily available things at home and mixing each other. Braid and cake are main coarse, rice for binding and ghee for starter, no desert. Is it not simple?

Dream Fish,

Coarse can be completed by adding some home made porridge. It has some advantages too.

Arefin

Arefin,
You are right. Milk protein is very much liked by fish. For mrigal some use cream of milk (sar) in a air tight jar with three to four granules of hing (asfoetida) kept for 7 days and used in bait. It is deadly.
