Hi friends, I heard that in Kolkata fishing rod and reels are available in very low price. I wanted to know that what is the difference between Indian Angler fishing equipments and Kolkata market fishing equipments? Anybody from kolkata can share the experiences....

Dear Pradeep,

Good to hear from you.. please fill your location in your profile as it helps determine the conditions you fish in and helps anglers suggest and guide you when you need advice..

I can say i have brought tackle and rods from the IA forum and have found them to be of International standards.. U pay for what you get.. obviously there is a quality difference between a 3k rod and a 1k rod, so goes for the reel, the mono..etc.. i have a indian rod which was bought from Cal and it doesnt stand upto the strength nor sensitivity of a branded one...

I will pass on the advice that i got from more experienced anglers in the forum to you..if you are in this for hobby, i would say go for a Shakespeare Ugly Stik and a Decent Spinning reel with a bearing of 3+..

For more info please get in touch with Bopanna( admin). he will be more than willing to explain what you need in detail..

Also there is nothing called Indianangler Brand, the IA sells all top quality brands such as Shakespeare, Shimano, Fenwick..etc..

Happy Fishing...

Regards,
Syed...

Hi Pradeep,

I agree with what Syed has said on his thread.. While the IA Shoppe is filled with known international brands, the Cal shops are basically cheap Chinese combos.. Even the so called branded items are sad Chinese rip-offs.. So suggest that you stick to the IA shoppe or other known sites.. The Cal shops are better for buying local hooks and groundbait..
If in doubt, u can contact any of the Bong Land Brethren..

Tight Lines,
GRC
