Greetings!

Never tried metal lures much in our west coast. However, after seeing some action on poppers on the previous trip, I thought of giving metal lures a try. Turned out to be a good idea. I was using a deadly dick lure and the fish were slamming it. I think the strikes were from MJs as I saw teeth marks on the sticker of the lure and the fish mostly bit the head of the lure. The lure only had a tail hook and I missed a couple of nice fish. Will try to put an assist hook at the head of the lure and give it another shot at the same place this month end.

Here a little video I made. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Cheers!
Maruthu

PS: I took the advice from Bobby and wore water shoes instead of sandals.
Got the shoes from Decathlon for Rs 500/- a pair and it made a huge difference. Thanks Bobby!

Thanks for sharing Maruthu.

Did you face any issues with the metals snagging when used from the shore?
I always wanted to use metals from the shore but the fear of getting them snagged kept me away. Will try the next time when I'm at the shore.

Also can you redirect me to the IA shop?

Thank you Humaid!

I did not have a problem at all with snagging using a metal lure.
I even tried microjigging on the bottom from the rocks and managed to catch this little grouper of some sort.
Even with the micro jigs, I have only snagged and lost them to the freaking old nets on the bottom.

Hope that helps! Go ahead and fish them metals with peace and catch some nice fish and report back :-)

Maruthu
