Greetings!

Me and my friend went to the west coast for a three day trip during the new year's dat weekend.
I caught a Mangrove Jack and my friend caught a blueline grouper and lost a nice sized Barramundi.
Wish I caught the blueline grouper on film, but my GoPro was charging at that point. Will try again though!

Didn't take any pics, but made a little video. I shall take/post more pics once I buy a still camera soon.

What was interesting on this trip was we caught a lot of Scorpion fish in the tide pools during low tide.
They are very small, but venomous. We initially thought what we caught were stonefish.

I was missing a lot of other fish, which I think was one nice barra amost them and the rest being bream and MJs.
Will try to something with the hook ups later by adding assist hooks or by switching to other lures.

When are you catching those big GT? I hope you get them on your next trip to East Coast.

Once I have waded though on of those pools to retrieve a snagged lure, Lucky that I did not got stung by these fishes.

I haven't fished for GTs in a long time.
Not sure if there'll be GT around this time of year where I'm going in the next couple of weeks, however I'll try.
I might be targeting GTs in March, 201. Hoping to catch some decent fish then.

The squidgy in my opinion is a better lure for big fish, however the shrimp I think will outfish most lures in dead calm waters where a very lively presentation is required, especially around structures. Where I caught the first MJ in the video I shared in the original post, I would have prefered to fish a squidgy, except I didn't have any with me :)

I would think twice before wading in that water again.... Hoping on those rocks I think must be altight though.
