A beautiful Sunday morning me and my friend decided to go and get some murrels , the weather was just superb. We were there at the spot by 8:30 am got hooked to one in an hours time, a decent catch weighing around 4kg .
Soon after that on my 5th cast got a huge strike , seriously huge gave me 4 short runs lasting about 10 sec kkkkrrrrkkrrr damn that sound made me happy , the way my rod bend and drag screamed i guess it was approx 7-9 kg but unfortunately it ran into thick grass , i was trying to avoid him from going there but could not help, i sent my friend for the rescue   but as he stepped closer, he was again screaming my reel :D (good feeling), as he was now out of that grass i started reeling him in , he was just not giving up, that huge fellow straightened the hook of my spinner(alpha):( :( :( works good but cheap quality hooks :( the murrel got away but i enjoyed the fight.. :D
This murrel in the picture also gave an enjoyable fight! :D
Image :-)

Hearty Congratulations Whitesnapper! That is a nice catch. A close up of fish would have displayed the body colours and design on fish predominantly.

Regards,

Arun

Hi my 2 bit.

Next time, just tighten the drag down totally, and start pumping. You will anyway loose the fish, so might as well use all the power and extra braid strength to brute the fish in....

Cheers

1)Its not always that you loose a fish, and its all part of the game u see..
2)I don't enjoy in just pumping and brute the fish in. And when you use 20lb mono and a size 3 spinner which is small but personally feel that it gives better chances of strikes than using a big size spinner.
I think its better to play around with the fish with such a capacity tackle, which is fun, and all about fishing.
cheerz :-)

wonderful fishing whitesnapper. contrary to popular belief, murrels do give a good fight in open waters.

Whoa! such a mean monster! Glad that finally someone got it, how was it caught :P

Belgaum is such nice colonial town filled with lovely and friendly people. What I remember about Belgaum is that there is one playing ground where 1 football is chased by 100 boys each wanting to play for his pleasure

Now competition is set

You are filling a big spirit in me for hunting them, can't wait to land one such monster murrel from my territory
