My friend Mr Paul Janakan who resides in Chennai recently landed a monster Mekong giant catfish while fishing at Bug Sam Lan lake in Thailand.

His day fishing turned out to be the very best he ever had by the water to date. Mid-afternoon, Paul Janakan hooked up a huge Mekong giant catfish (Pangasianidon gigas). The fish fell for a rice husk flour based bait. It took Janakan almost an hour and a half to tame and land a "submarine with fins" weighing an impressive 75.00 kg. The biggest freshwater fish catch ever by an Indian angler in Thailand!

Stand up J.Paul Janakan!

I guess the bait was soaked with Tennessee Whiskey :) The Cat looks high on liquor with red eyes. Or is it the red eye issue with photography.
